The work
Nature photography of the small, easily-missed things: roses putting their best petals forward, a bee lit up so you can see every vein in its wings, water doing things water shouldn't be able to do. Some are quiet and calm; some are pure whimsy. All of them are chasing that little flicker where you stop and go, "wait, what is that?"
Every image comes as a gallery-wrapped canvas (ready to hang, no frame needed) or as a fine art print in a few finishes: Lustre Pearl Paper or Fine Art Paper. Same small moments, whichever way you'd like them on the wall.

Limited editions & authenticity
Each image is a limited edition of 150 in total (5x7 and 18x12 sizes). Every piece comes with an edition number. Signed pieces are available upon request.
A little about me
I'm Joy, also known as Marie Cilu, an artist and storyteller based in St. Louis.
After accidentally retiring from a 20+ year career in technology, art is now my playground.
I photograph what most people walk past: dew inside the fold of a leaf, a bee's wings catching the light just right, a duck working a glamour pose (you can see through its nostril!).
I'm curious, easily delighted, and not above sitting on the edge of a fountain poking the water to see what happens.
I wander, I linger, I play, and I wait, sometimes patiently, sometimes in cramped awkward poses, until the photo comes together.
I hope the picture makes you stop for a second and feel a little flicker of wonder.
Small-format prints, too
Alongside the wall pieces, I also make 4×6 prints that come in a linen-finish frame that folds open to stand on its own, no framing, no fuss. An easy, affordable little add-on for near the counter. Suggested retail is $15.

It's simple and low-risk on your end. I deliver the work (and I'm happy to help you place it); you display it and keep an agreed share of whatever sells; anything that doesn't sell comes back to me.
