I made some chicken brushes in Photoshop a while back.*
Today, I played with the brushes, played with patterns, played with effects.
I had no goal, no thing I was creating.
Until I sat back and looked at the pieces.
“This is all about when chickens take flight.”
Chickens aren’t trapped.
They may like to spend their days on the ground, they may look like they can’t escape.
Not escaping is the chicken’s choice.
The chicken can fly far enough and high enough to get themselves where they want to be.
Trapped is a perception. Trapped is a moment, it’s not a lifetime.

*I wanted to learn how to create a custom brushes and I just watched the Chicken People documentary - seemed a fitting subject for a brush experiment.
